In matters of discipline, students in the boarding are expected to be well mannered and courteous in their dealings with other members of the School and members of Staff and of the public, both on and off School premises. In short, a sense of responsibility to others in the School and to the town’s community is encouraged. There is a career and guidance cell which helps students who need assistance and mentorship.
Each pupil is issued with a booklet called ‘The White List’ containing the School Rules, which are kept to a minimum and updated each year. These rules are quietly but firmly enforced by the staff and School prefects, the latter chosen for their leadership potential
The School Rules distinguish between Cardinal Rules which are basic rules and Further School Rules, which cover such issues as School Uniform and Bounds. Sanctions are graded accordingly.
Everyday discipline comes within the remit of the Housemasters / Housemistresses; serious breaches are dealt with by the Deputy Head or Headmaster and always in consultation with the Housemasters / Housemistresses.
