History

Smt. Satya Bala, President of Ch. Puran Singh Education Society, mother of Mr. Pradeep and Sandip Singh had started The Blue Bird with a view, they must do something for the children of the future and their dream was fulfilled with the opening of The Blue Bird in their residence on Subhash Road. By His grace, the school has become a focal point and has grown larger to change its place in the nearest locality. Mr. Sandip Singh has taken the mantle on himself to carry on the good work and fulfill his father’s (Late Mr. Puran Singh) dream of bringing quality education to the children who deserve it most. Mr. Sandip Singh is the director of the school.

In the portals of the academy, the leaders of tomorrow are nurtured to go into the world, upright and confident, as ambassadors of goodwill. Children are natural learners, eager to explore their world. Children interact through their behavior.

After three decades Ch. Puran Singh laid the foundation of Dehradun Hills Academy in the village Doodhli, close to Rajaji National Park. His vision was to provide the children of Doodhli with a well set school in quiet sylvan surrounding to encourage a peaceful creative approach to life.

Dehradun Hills Academy is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. The aim of DDHA is to create a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant. We hope to achieve this through a structured inquiry and the development of five essential elements viz knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes and action.

The school acknowledges the importance of traditional subject areas- Language Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Personality Development, Social & Physical Education, and Arts.
